Models Prefer Moisture Lust Glossy Lip Tints: Swatches + First Impressions

Today I'm doing a quick first impressions post on what I think of the Models Prefer Moisture Lust Glossy Lip Tints. These are available from Priceline for just $7.99 AUD (although I couldn't seem to find them on their website) and are an affordable alternative to the Revlon Kissable Balm Stains which are a lot more expensive at $17.95 AUD, also similar to the Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balms which are $12.95 AUD.

I really like the formula and pigmentation of these. They feel very moisturizing and smooth on the lips and they don't apply patchy on me. They aren't sheer, but they aren't completely opaque. They are a medium color pay off but it is buildable and you can apply several layers for a more intense colour payoff.

My only major complaint with these is that after swatching one of the colours just once on my hand, the entire crayon has pretty much broken off and it is now very difficult to apply unless a lip brush is used. These were designed to be applied directly to the lip, so this is annoying! I don't think the quality is bad overall, but obviously this is something you'll need to consider when going with these as they are a lot cheaper and may not last you as long as some of the more expensive brands.

  • Toffee Fudge - Nude with a rose tint (gorgeous everyday colour)
  • Honeycomb - Peachy nude
  • Pink Frosting - Dark pink/rose shade
  • Bubblegum - Cool-toned bubblegum pink with purple undertones

The Verdict

Overall, I'm happy with these and I like the colours I own. I would recommend these if you'd like a cheap lip crayon that has good color payoff and is moisturising. Just be careful not to apply too much pressure when using these as they may break! Out of the three lip tints I've mentioned, I'd have to say that Covergirl is my favorite in terms of value for money and quality, I like them more than the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains but not as much as The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms which I will cover in a separate blog post because I consider them different to the others mentioned. They are an opaque, matte balm, instead of a glossy balm.

Check out the Models Prefer Lip Tints if you'd like a cheaper version of a glossy tint just to try out! Why not see how you like these as an alternative to wearing a lipstick?
