What I'm Loving Lately: Shower Edition

I know this sounds sort of strange, since the shower is a very intimate place but I'm always interested to hear about what products people use in their shower! I love body scrubs, soaps, cleansers, body washes, and hair products so I thought I'd share with you all what I've been really liking lately in my shower routine ...

1. Bioré Pore Unclogging Scrub ($10.99 AUD)

This Bioré scrub is awesome! I am generally picky with skincare, and find myself going for mid to higher end items because my skin sometimes reacts badly to cheaper skincare products, however I really like this product and it's extremely affordable. The scrub consists of a thick, creamy consistency with blue exfoliant beads embedded throughout to assist in buffing away dry skin and unclogging pores. I also find this product works really well at reducing blackheads on my nose.

This scrub also contains salicylic acid which is useful for oily or combination skin-types to assist in treating and preventing future breakouts. I'm not sure if this would be suitable for sensitive skin types, as the scrub produces a strong cooling/icy sensation on the face which may be uncomfortable to some. I personally love the feeling because it completely wakes up my face, especially when I'm feeling like a tired zombie in the morning!

2. Milk and Co Body Scrub* ($14.95 AUD)

This Milk and Co Body Scrub* is a cinnamon dream! The exfoliating scrub contains aloe vera, rose hip oil and lavender oil which combine together to nourish and moisturise the skin. The rose hip oil is also beneficial to reduce any blemishes or scars you may have on your body. This product is made in Australia and contains 95% naturally derived ingredients. The combination of rice bran, cinnamon powder and coconut shell creates the exfoliating mixture in the scrub which is used to scrub away dull and dead skin and leave your body feeling soft and silky.

The smell is really lovely, it's not something I would normally gravitate towards however it works well during the winter months. The fresh, cinnamon scent is also well suited for a male as well, so don't be surprised if your boyfriend/hubby tries to steal this in the shower, I know mine did! I'd definitely recommend this scrub to anyone looking to try out a more natural body scrub alternative or who would like a gentle but nourishing body exfoliant.

3. Appelles Rosemary Body Bar* ($5.95 AUD)

I received this bar of soap to try in a Lust Have It box and I'm so happy I was able to try something from the brand Appelles which I have been hearing so many good things about from other beauty bloggers. It's an Australian brand which deliver products using organic australian oils as well as other naturally sourced ingredients.  They specialise in hair, skin and lifestyle products.

The body bar is lovely on the skin and I didn't find it drying whatsoever. It contains Blue Mallee Eucalyptus, Niaouli, Lemon Myrtle & Dried Rosemary Leaf which all contain beneficial properties for the skin! The Rosemary leaf is embedded into the bar, and it is used to cleanse and disinfect the skin. When I'm using this, all I can smell is the lemon myrtle and it smells like lemon cheesecake! Yumm! Appelles offer some great starter packs, so if you'd like to try out the brand, then the packs are a very affordable way to do so. I will definitely be looking to try some more products from the brand myself!

4. Goldwell Dualsenses Line* ($24.95 AUD)

I was kindly sent the Goldwell Rich Repair Cream Shampoo*, Goldwell Rich Repair Anti-Breakage Conditioner* as well as Goldwell Rich Repair 60 Second Treatment for review. Luckily, I had already bought & LOVED the Blondes & Highlights set which I previously had purchased to compliment my ombré hair. I absolutely loved using the blondes set, it smells amazing (even better than the Rich Repairand does an excellent job at keeping brassiness out of blonde hair while also providing lots of moisture and shine.

I have been trialling the Rich Repair set for about two weeks now and I am also loving this series! The Rich Repair set is focused on providing nourishment to dry, stressed and damaged hair. My ends are quite dry from bleaching them lighter, so I was grateful to be given the chance to try these products. The shampoo and conditioner are both lovely and smell really good too. They leave my hair feeling very clean, smooth and soft.

However, the STAR product here (and with the blondes set) is the 60 second treatment. I have tried lots of different hair treatments and masques, but most of them require you to keep the product through your mid-lengths and ends for 5 minutes up to 10 minutes or more. Who honestly has time for that? I know for me, I am usually rushing in the shower to get things done quickly. I was skeptical to add another step into my hair routine but I'm sure we all have a spare 60 seconds!

This treatment has made a HUGE difference to my hair. I saw a dramatic difference after just using the treatment once!!! My hair was much smoother, softer and I had less frizz and flyaways. I now regularly use this treatment once a week. If you would like to try just one product in the Goldwell Dualsenses line, instead of purchasing a set, I'd highly recommend you try one of the 60 second treatments! You won't regret it!

Well that's all for my favourite shower products!
What products do you look forward to using in the shower?

*This product was kindly sent to Bows & Pleats for consideration. All reviews are 100% honest and my own.

    1. You would love it Lena! If you are having trouble with brassy hair, I would 100% recommend the Blondes & Highlights treatment. It smells amazing & makes your hair so much more hydrated and soft. You can buy it from most haircare stores or from salons that carry Goldwell, and I know the packs of 3 are often on sale for cheaper!

    1. Hey Bec! I have the Macadamia one too, if you mean the one in the green bottle! That one is really nice but I hate having to leave it in for 10 minutes. I only have a shower at my place, no bath, so I always get bored and wash it out too early haha. That's why I like the 60 second option! It's a great hair mask though! Thanks for your comment xx
