September Monthly Favourites: 2014

Well, I'll be honest, I almost completely forgot about my favourites this month! I've had a very challenging few weeks within my personal life, including being in the midst of moving house as well as a family member passing away. I've been so homesick to return to Canada, I've found it hard to stay up to date with my blog. My apologies for not getting as much content out as I would have liked to this month.

Now on to the faves! Being such a crazy month, I've been generally keeping my makeup pretty simple. These are the products I've turned to the most to help me feel put together without being very time-consuming.

1. Estee Lauder Matte Perfecting Primer

I've just raved about this primer in my first impressions post here. Even though I only bought the full-size half way through September, I had been using a sample pot of this product the entire month and I have absolutely loved it. Even just worn alone over my moisturiser, I find this blurs any fine lines, reduces the appearance of pores and makes my skin look more even for foundation application. I am in love with this primer!

2. Vera Wang Lovestruck Perfume

This is a gorgeous sweet floral fragrance that I've really been enjoying since I picked it up about a month ago. If you like Vera Wang's Princess, you'd definitely love this one as well. It has notes of musk, guava, lotus flower and blossom. I am not a huge lover of overly floral scents, but this has a beautiful woody musk base that balances the florals really well. This is a really sweet and seductive scent.

3. TheBalm DownBoy Blush

This blush is a simple baby pink, but it adds just the right amount of flush to the cheeks to make you look more polished and put together. I find that this blush blends out really well into the cheeks and leaves a beautiful glow to the face. This colour would suit pale to medium skin tones. Pigmentation is quite good and you don't need much product on your blush to achieve a beautiful pink glow. I've had this product for a while, but haven't used it much until now. I'm so happy I rediscovered it!

4. Shanghai Suzy Lipstick in Miss Courtney

This lipstick is crazy bright and so very unique! I picked up a few new shades from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection and this one has been my pick this month. I don't have anything quite the same in my collection. This shade is described by Shanghai Suzy as "electric flamingo", it is a blue-based pink but I think it would complement both cool or warm skin tones.

I like to use this lipstick brighten up my face and create a more dramatic look without having to spend much time or effort on my eyes. This is a super nourishing matte formula, and staying true to this brand, it is very long-lasting. I wore this out to a festival and it literally stayed on my lips for a good 5-6 hours before I had to reapply and even then I only had slight fading around the inside of lips from eating and drinking. I was amazed the colour and pigmentation lasted so well. Winner!!!

Well that's all beauties! As I said, I didn't have too many new products in my life this month. I have been putting my finances towards quite a few other things, and trying to enjoy items already in my collection. I'd love your to comment with a link to your monthly favourites if you have a blog, or let me know what products you've been loving this month! Stay beautiful :)
