How-To: Dramatic Lips & Winged Eyeliner

Today I thought I'd share a look I've been enjoying lately for something a little special like a dinner out with friends or a date with someone you love! I love breaking the rules and adding a winged eyeliner to my eyes with a bold lip for some added drama. This look could even be a daytime look depending on your job or lifestyle! It's pretty simple to do but it will definitely get you noticed! If you want to know how I achieved this look and what products I used, keep reading!

I started off this look by priming my face with my Stila One Step Correct Primer, and using my favourite Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation which gives a great coverage and a semi-satin finish. I highlighted under my eyes with my Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer, and then finished off my base with my Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder.

In this look, the lips are the main attraction, with some added interest in the eyeshadow and winged liner. It's such a bold look, it's important to pair down the cheeks and the rest of the face. For this reason, I decided not to contour, and placed a small amount of TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer on my cheekbones and a touch of MAC Warm Soul on the apples of my cheeks.

For my brows, I filled them in using a small angled brush and the shade Espresso from my Lorac Mega Pro Palette.

For the eyes, I primed my eyelids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer. Using my Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush, I took Dusty Plum from the Lorac Mega Pro Palette and blended it into the crease until it looks seamless. I also placed a little bit of Dusty Rose and blended it down from the crease to the outer corner. I also dusted some of this shade into my lower lash line. Finally, I placed the shade Opal onto the centre of my lid and packed it on with Sigma E20 brush and blended towards the inner corner with a blending brush. With the product left on my brush, I placed some of this highlight underneath my brow as well.

Finally, using my ever faithful Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner, in Blackest Black I added a small wing on to my eyelid, starting from the outer corner and making a medium line all the way across the lid. Finishing off the eye, I used my Makeup Store Multi Lash Mascara to add some volume and length.

Finally, for the lips, I lined them with Jordana Cosmetics Lip Liner in Plush Plum and filled in my lips completely with this shade to add some depth and increase the longevity of the lipstick. Then I put on a generous coat of my Sportsgirl Pout About it Lipstick in Berrylicious which is such a gorgeous shade and really adds some colour to this makeup look. Berrylicious on it's own is a cool-toned berry/purple shade but with the plum lip liner underneath, it becomes a much bolder and deeper colour.

This is the final look! I hope you like how it turned out. What is your favourite bold lip combo?
