6 Luxury Beauty Buys Worth Splurging On

I love a good beauty bargain as much as the next person, and it's great to discover affordable drugstore products that everybody can afford. However, I do believe that sometimes there are products worth saving up for, and splurging on! Not all high-end or luxury items are worth their pricetag, but sometimes you do get what you pay for and I have a collection of some high end products that I wanted to share with you today because I really do feel that they are worth the money! If you're wondering what items you might want to add to your "splurge wishlist", keep reading!

My Top 6 Luxury Beauty Buys Worth Splurging On

1. SkinCeuticals Metacell Renewal B3* ($110 AUD)

Housed in a beautiful glass bottle, this Metacell Renewal B3 from SkinCeuticals is a comprehensive daily corrective moisturizer that visibly corrects the appearance of early photoaging to re-clarify skin, reduce wrinkles, re-tighten surface elasticity, and even skin tone.

For me, I was hoping that this product would mainly assist to even out my skintone, since I have a lot of acne scarring and redness and I have noticed an amazing difference in my skin. This comes out like a serum so I apply it first thing in the morning after cleansing and before my regular moisturiser. The Metacell Renewal B3 renews skin by increasing cell turnover, it reduces the appearance of discoloration and the look of redness and also hydrates the skin. I personally really love this product and would highly recommend to anyone who really struggles with uneven skintone.

2. Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum Spray 100ml        ($234 AUD)

I was given this perfume as a gift from my Mom and it is one of my most loved and coveted perfumes ever. It is an extremely strong scent when first sprayed and lasts all day and night so you only need literally one spray and you are good to go. I love the packaging of this bottle and think it's gorgeous to display on your vanity. It is the only rounded bottle from Chanel, different to their iconic rectangular bottle for Chanel No 5. Chance is such a gorgeous, feminine scent - it contains top notes of pink pepper, lemon and pine apple. The heart of the perfume encompasses jasmine and iris, while the base is composed of amber, patchouli, and white musk. It's a combination of a lot of different scents but to me it reflects confidence and beauty and I always get compliments when I wear it. It isn't overpowering or overly floral. I really love it and usually only wear mine for special occasions, job interviews, weddings, events, etc because it is quite expensive. I also love how the back of mine has different constellations connecting the different notes of the perfume that you can view through the bottle. Such beautiful packaging.

 3. Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation ($85 AUD)

Another pretty glass bottle ... do you notice a pattern here? I had been wanting to try this foundation for a really long time and when I was given a gift voucher last year, I finally bit the bullet and bought this foundation. It honestly isn't my favourite foundation ever, I think for that price we expect it to make us look photoshopped, but it is one of the most gorgeous foundations for a very bright, luminous and glowing look. Whenever I wear this, my skin looks event, healthy and radiant. It isn't full coverage, it is a buildable medium coverage and not cakey whatsoever. I do find my main issue with this one is the longevity. It only lasts for about 5 hours on me before I have to powder my face, but my skin looks amazing whenever I wear it. I prefer to use this when I am going out for a date or dinner, where it doesn't have to last super well for a long period of time. I am experimenting using more longwear primers with this as well to see if it increases wear time. If you love a dewy, radiant finish than you'd love this if you are looking for something to splurge on!

4. Lancôme Rouge in Love Lipstick in ($47 AUD)

This was my first high-end lipstick purchase, and it remains to be one of my favourite lipstick formulas ever. The Rouge In Love Range from Lancôme is a highly pigmented, creamy and long-lasting formula. I own four shades, so let me know if you'd like to see the rest of my collection. This particular shade 375N Rose Me, Rose Me Not is a gorgeous hot pink that looks stunning on the lips. If you haven't tried out this lip range, I'd highly recommend them! They come in a gorgeous silver metal packaging that feels very luxurious and high-end.

5. Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment ($142 AUD)

I've already mentioned this amazing serum treatment from Sunday Riley in my recent May Favouries, but since it was definitely a major splurge for me, I thought it was worth mentioning again. To be honest with you, my skin has never looked this good in months. I have a consistent skincare routine to partly thank but I think that this serum has also played a huge part in increasing cell turnover, improving my skin's texture and evening out my skintone along with the SkinCeuticals Metacell Renewal B3.

The Sunday Riley serum contains a high concentration of lactic acid so I apply mine before bed and wake up with glowing, plumped skin. I also feel like it has assisted to reduce/cease my breakouts, perhaps by chemically exfoliating my skin has reduced congestion and therefore ceased my breakouts. It's hard to contribute to one product alone but I think it's definitely helping! I absolutely love this product and couldn't recommend it more. Be aware however, that this may be too strong for very sensitive skin types since it contains a high concentration of active ingredients that creates a tingling sensation when applied.

6. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Radiant Magenta ($42 AUD)

Very few brands can do luxury as well as Hourglass Cosmetics, their packaging is beyond compare in my opinion and all of their products that I've tried have been well made and high quality so I have been happy to pay the price tag. This blush is a gorgeous bright pink with golden swirls mixed together in a marble design. These blushes are highly pigmented, so don't go crazy swirling your brush around in the pan or you will find that way too much will come off onto your cheeks. You only need to just barely swipe the pan and you will have beautifully pink cheeks that blend into the skin seamlessly. I feel like this blush will last forever even if you use it everyday because you only need a small amount. There is also a slight shimmer in the formula but it looks natural and blends into the skin. You can't go wrong with any of the blush shades from Hourglass Cosmetics.

Well those are some of my luxury beauty buys that I would recommend! What is your favourite luxury beauty item that you own? Is there anything that has really impressed you or let you down? I'd love to hear your stories!

  3. blogrekindled14/6/15 9:32 am

Did good genes go up in price?? I purchased it from Mecca only about a month ago and it was $125AUD. If it is $140+ now I think that would be a major turn off. I do love it but not for that price!

  4. Soooo many pretty things! I'm definitely with you on the Hourglass blushes, so worth the spend, they're definite favourites of mine.

  5. Rosa @lipsticknlinguine15/6/15 4:42 pm

Your blog is looking amazing!! Love all the pink! Great picks!

  6. What a dangerous post to read! I really want to try that foundation and serum now!!!

  7. It is pretty dangerous, I apologise!!! If you try anything, try the serum. Even if you just get a sample pot from Mecca, it has been life changing for me!!! Thank you so much for reading Sarah & following me on Bloglovin <3 x

  8. It will definitely show up on your skin! It is super super pigmented, I often have to be careful I don't put too much on my brush because it is so highly pigmented. The shimmer in it is very slight, it looks much less on the face than when you swatch with your fingers. Trust me!

  9. Thanks Rosa <3 We were just talking about this the other day. LOVE

  10. YES! What shades do you have in the Hourglass blushes?

  11. Yes it has! Mecca changes their prices depending on the US dollar I believe. I bought mine on 7th May (just checked the receipt) and I only paid $125 which is still really expensive but now it is even more expensive at $142! Ah, I better ration mine out because I've been using it 3 times a week!

  12. Oh yay, glad you liked the post! Which Hourglass blush do you have? x

  13. Oooh! I love mine, I wonder how close yours smells to mine or if they are quite different? What other perfumes do you like? I want to try a new one! x

  14. Thanks Sarah, thats good to know. I will actually try them on my cheeks next time I am in MEcca :)

  15. No worries! I thought I was following you on BL but I must have just been coming over from Insta and not realised xD will defs try and get a sample pot of the serum and see how it goes for me! xx

  16. Oooh I've almost run out of my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum and I literally opened a sample of the Good Genes serum last night. I've had my eye on it for a long while! Great post gorgeous! xx
