July Monthly Favourites: 2015

Another month, another set of beauty and other favourites! This month I have been loving a range of new beauty and skincare products that I'm excited to share with you! Most of my fave products this month are quite affordable and available locally which is also a bonus for any of you who are on a budget! Let's get into it!

1. MooGoo Full Cream Moisturiser* $13.50 AUD

Can I just say I love the feel of this facial cream on my skin? It glides on smoothly and sinks into my skin making it feel instantly more moisturised. If you have sensitive or irritated skin, this is for you. This facial moisturiser won't cause your skin to sting or burn whatsoever.

The base oil of the cream is Sweet Almond Oil. It also contains raw Coconut Oil which is quite soothing on the skin. The cream also contains honey and apple cider vinegar which gives it a lovely scent and there is no need to add any fragrance. I would highly recommend this! It may be a little too heavy for oily skin types but it would suit all others and I have no problem wearing this under my makeup with my combination skin. Click here to find your local stockist.

2. Rimmel Radiance BB Cream* $12.95 AUD

I've actually been really impressed with this BB cream since road testing it over the past month or so. It gives a really nice light-medium coverage that can be built up quite easily and I have found best application to be with my fingers initially and then blended in with a flat top kabuki brush. It is a great multi-tasker, evening out your skintone while also providing hydration and SPF 20. Great for lazy days, giving enough coverage for work or a day out running errands. I do find that this brightens the skin nicely, without going super shiny or becoming oily. The only negative I have found of this product is that it is only available in three shades, so there will be quite a few people that would have to miss out on finding their perfect match. You could always mix this with another foundation to match your skintone if you were really interested but it would be great if more shades were released. I find the shade medium suits me perfectly.

3. Rimmel Wonder'full Wake Me Up Mascara* $17.95

There is a new mascara on the block from Rimmel and it smells like cucumbers. I wasn't sure if this mascara was just a gimmick, but besides it's pleasant smell, I actually have been loving this bow shaped wand, and blackest black formula. It is quite wet on application, but coats the lashes very nicely, just be careful not to smudge it. Once it dries, I find it sets really well and I don't get any smudging, flaking or clumping. The thick brush does make it a little difficult to get the inner corner hairs but overall the brush brings a ton of volume and I love the way it makes my lashes look!

4. Delicious Skin Lip Salve Cocoa & Mint*
$8 AUD

How cute is the tin packaging of this lip balm? This is a solid lip balm that is amazingly nourishing on the lips as well as containing 100% natural ingredients. The cocoa & mint flavour smells like mint slices and it makes me want to eat it! There are also other scents available such as cocoa and vanilla as well as peppermint and vanilla. You can instantly feel the nourishing ingredients on your lips including shea butter, almond oil and vitamin e. I love any product where I can easily read and understand the full ingredients list and this definitely fits the bill. It has been my go-to lip balm and I always have to have this in my handbag to keep my lips feeling smooth and soft.

5. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Trooper $26.13 AUD

I received this mini liquid liner in a Sephora Gift Set which I ordered through Hop Shop Go. Although I still can't get enough of my beloved Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner, there is no denying the amazing precisions you can achieve with this liquid liner from Kat Von D. It is one of the most pigmented liners I have ever used, and has a pen applicator which is formed by tiny bristles that don't bend out of place after several uses like some other liners. Sadly this isn't readily available in Australia so I am waiting to buy the full size on my next overseas trip. I have had this mini for at least six months and it hasn't dried up at all which is also a pro over the Maybelline liner which I do find to run out and dry up quite quickly.

6. Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser* $32.99

I'm not usually a fan of gel cleansers, but this brightening cleanser from Antipodes is really refreshing. I love using this in the morning to wake up my face and keep my skin feeling really clear and fresh. It doesn't leave a residue at all and foams nicely. It is an orange-brown colour, pretty much the exact same consistency and scent as the Antipodes Apostle Skin-Brightening & Tone-Correcting Serum which I mentioned in my 5 Blemish Busting Products Post. This cleanser is well-suited to oily skin-types but I don't find it to be drying whatsoever. It makes my skin feel really clean and fresh. I don't use this to remove my makeup so I can't comment on it's effectiveness but I think there are better cleansers out there for this purpose such as an oil based cleanser or my beloved Delicious Skin Butter Cleanser. This cleanser is quite affordable given that it is a large 200ml size and is often on sale at Priceline, so keep a look out for this and grab a bargain!

7. Skinstitut Retinol Serum $45 AUD

So as you guys may remember if you've been reading my blog for a while, I love using serums that contain Vitamin A since it works to promote skin cell renewal, assisting in the reduction of acne-scarring and uneven skintone. Previously I had been using the Alpha H Vitamin A 0.5% Serum which you can read about here and here, however it costs a whopping $92.95 AUD, so I am so happy to report that the Skinstitut Retinol Serum is a much more affordable alternative! I have found this to be an amazing dupe, both similar in consistency, smell and overall results. I'd highly highly recommend this for those of you that are also struggling with uneven skintones, especially from acne scarring.

I have just mentioned this pretty blush baby in a recent post all about 5 Blush Shades You Need In Your Makeup Bag, since writing that post I have been using this blush non-stop, and I love how it almost can be used as a highlighter/blush because of the gorgeous shimmer effect it has in it's formula. This blush can also make a gorgeous eyeshadow shade, placed on the centre of the lids it can be brightening and very flattering to the face. Unfortunately, Milani Cosmetics is a drugstore brand in the US but isn't widely available in Australia. You can purchase it from BeautyJoint online or Crush Cosmetics if you would like local Australian delivery and are willing to pay a little bit more for it.

9. Australis Bronzeyed Girl Eyeshadow Palette $9.95 AUD

This palette is a limited edition release, but still available at K-Mart, so check your local store to see if they still have some available. It's super affordable and great quality which is a killer combination if you ask me. Although this palette doesn't have much range, containing all shimmering shades, I have to say that each shade was quite pigmented when I swatched this and I have been loving applying the two lighter shades in the inner corner of my eye or as a highlighter. The darker four shades look STUNNING on the centre of the lid, and give the same sort of colour payoff as some of my pigments. The rose gold shade is my obsession at the moment!

10. Music Monthly Favourites

A new addition to my usual beauty favourites, I thought it would be fun to start adding in my most played songs of the month from Spotify which I use to stream my music and discover new artists. Here are July's most played songs.

Well that's it for this month's favourites! These are one of my favourite types of posts to write so I hope you enjoyed reading it!!! Please let me know if you have any post requests for the month of August, I'd love to hear your feedback!!!
