Delicious Skin: Skincare Review

I am a huge fan of skincare, and a self-confessed lover of more natural products, so when I was sent some goodies from Delicious Skin to try, I was delighted to discover this lovely boutique brand from
New South Whales, Australia. You have probably seen some of these products pop up in Monthly Favourites Posts here on the blog as well as some Instagram posts, so I decided to do a full review for you all! Keep reading if you'd like to hear the lowdown about this Australian skincare range!

Delicious Skin offer a range of different skincare products and have recently expanded their range to include some bath and body products as well. What really sets this brand apart, is their attention to detail, their careful packaging of each item as well as their strong value base for products that contain natural and nourishing ingredients, skipping any fillers or cheap nasties, and just keeping things really simple and transparent. The entire range is 100% vegan and cruelty free so you can rest assured that these products were truly made with love!

Each product is housed in glass jars and packaging, or reusable materials to reduce the amount of waste created from their making. I really love this idea, and appreciate that although these materials may cost more to create, the brand has stayed true to their values. If you'd like to know more about the face behind the brand, Nicola Marie, there is a lovely interview on their website here where you can read more!

Supple Silk Serum* ($26 AUD)

I really love this serum (recently featured in my Nightime Skincare Routine) that contains active ingredients of argan oil and organic rosehip oil to moisturise and heal skin. It also includes beneficial essential oils such as tea tree, peppermint, lavender and chamomile to calm redness, reduce irritation, help balance oil production and provide antibacterial properties. This is a great alternative to just a plain rosehip oil because it contains a lot of additional ingredients that help nourish the skin and is great for healing acne scarring.

Smooth Exfoliating Mask($24 AUD)

Although not my favourite product, this is a pretty cool mask that come as a dry clay that can then be mixed with 2 teaspoons of water, soy mik or mashed avocado to create a rich paste to then be applied to the face. I just tried this out with water and did find it a little difficult to get the desired consistency and found that I wasted a little bit of product. Next time I would use a spoon and a bowl to get a better paste happening, but initially I tried to mix the clay in my hands and I found  that this didn't work well. It contains bentonite clay to draw impurities out of pores as well as crushed almonds and oats to soothe and exfoliate the skin.

Clean Butter Cleanser* ($28 AUD)

I'm not even sure where to begin with this product, because I am obsessed!!! (I featured this in my May Monthly Favourites post). I have already used up a full jar of this stuff and am on to my second. This is one of those products that I look forward to using every time I take off my makeup! You only need a pea size amount to rub into your skin, add a little bit of water and it emulsifies on the skin and basically melts your makeup right off. No matter what eyeliner or mascara or lipstick I've worn, this stuff always get it off with one application. I really do think this is one of the best facial cleansers I have ever used for makeup removal, and it's very interesting since it comes in a sort of solid form, mainly from the organic coconut oil which makes up the consistency. Coconut oil is great for removing dead skin cells which then also allows for the moisturising properties of this cleanser to really sink into the skin leaving your face feeling super clean, and very soft!!! I would highly recommend this product if you wanted to try just one item.

Soft Moisturising Cream* ($28 AUD)

How cool does this moisturising cream look when you open up the jar? It almost looks like soft serve ice cream and it smells like chocolate!!! This cream is mainly made up of cacao and shea butter which is what makes it smells so amazing. The consistency I found to be a little hard, you grab a pea size amount and sort of rub it between your hands to warm up the product and then on to the desired area. I sort of wish the formula was a little softer so it was easier to apply to larger areas but I do find that this works really well to hydrate the skin. It is a little greasy as a moisturiser so I would recommend it be used before bed and not under makeup! This is a great multi-tasker and can be used on a variety of skin concerns such as eczema, dry patches, stretch marks or acne scars.

Silky Lip Salve* ($8 AUD)

Another excellent product from this brand in all natural lip balm for dry and chapped lips (recently featured in my July Monthly Favourites post). I personally suffer from horribly chapped lips and often struggle to find products that last for more than an hour on my lips. I have found that this lip salve is very effective because the consistency is very thick, containing shea butter, almond oil and vitamin e, which work together to moisturise the lips really well! I received the flavour cocoa & mint and it also smells amazing! I love the little tin can in which it is housed, and it's great to pop in your bag for on the go touch ups throughout the day. This is also really affordable and you get a lot of product in each tin so it would last you a while!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this roundup of the full skincare range from Delicious Skin! I have to say, I was very impressed by this range, especially the Supple Silk Serum, Butter Cleanser and Silky Lip Salve which would be my personal recommendations! If you're after a natural, 100% vegan and cruelty-free skincare range that still uses effective ingredients to combat skin concerns than you should definitely check out this brand!
