January Coffee Break: 2016

Hi beauties! Welcome to the first Coffee Break of 2016! I decided to start this series, so you guys can get to know me better over the next year. As much as I love writing about makeup and beauty, there are also lots of other areas that I'm interested in, and just personal news I'd love to share with you guys so we can feel like friends and not strangers :) If you already follow Sarah from More Than Adored or Ebony from The Black and White Guide, they both have awesome little features where they talk about what's happening in their lives and I love reading them, which prompted me to create my own monthly series! Keep reading on to hear what I've been up to this month!

January Monthly Favourites: 2016

Welcome to my first monthly favourites post of 2016!!! How exciting. Since there will be a big focus this year on shopping my stash and rediscovering old favourites, I've decided to create some dedicated posts to my beauty rediscoveries highlighting items I've forgotten about and now love again. I am going to try to keep my monthly favourites to new items I've purchased or come across, or items I haven't had a chance to try yet. Let's see what I've been loving!

Save or Spend: 5 Ways To Spend Less When You're a Beauty Junkie

When I was reflecting over My 2015 Beauty Favourites, I realised how many new products had been released over the past twelve months and the immense pressure we often feel to purchase each new collection, sometimes just to say we have got it in our hands, other times because we want to provide a review for our readers. I was having a chat about all of this with my good friend and fellow beauty blogger, Melissa from Loads of Lifestyle and we decided to do a blog collaboration series about smart ways to shop, strategies for buying less and incentives for using up what is already in our existing collections, the Save or Spend Series!

Today's post is all about 5 strategies you can use to spend less when you're a beauty junkie like us!

Australia Day Outfit Ideas

Although I'm originally from Canada, I've always loved celebrating special events and holidays, and Australia Day is definitely a new favourite of mine! It's always fun to dig through your closet and see what blue, white and red pieces you can put together to create an aussie day inspired outfit. This year, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to collaborate with one of my favouirte online stores Boohoo.com
I seriously shop here all the time, so when I was offered the chance to create an outfit from their online selections featuring the australia flag colours, I was excited to put something together to share with you all!

BH Cosmetics x Carli Bybel Palette: Review & Swatches

You may have already heard of this relatively new release which is a collaboration between BH Cosmetics and famous Youtuber Carli Bybel. This palette immediately appealed to be since it contains a lot of warm toned neutrals, including some gorgeous shimmers and some very pretty highlight shades for a point of difference. These are the type of shades that I am drawn to straight away and I knew I would get a lot of use out of this palette as long as the eyeshadows were blendable and decent quality. Keep reading on to hear my thoughts on this palette and see some swatches!

Real-U Skincare: Review

Real-U is an Australian skincare brand with a well-developed but simplistic view towards skincare, three steps without the nasty chemicals. I was recently offered the opportunity to try out the range by the lovely owner Ebony, and was happy to trial these products which are specifically aimed at acne-prone and problem skin types like mine. Read on to find out what I think of this new skincare brand!

Bondi Box December 2015: Review

I was recently given the chance to try out a new monthly fitness & healthy lifestyle subscription called Bondi Box*. They send 5-7 fitness/health products each month including a fitness accessory. Personally, I've been working on my health and fitness over the past few years, especially leading up to my wedding late last year and now after gaining some extra weight on my honeymoon I have been working hard back at the gym and eating healthy, so I was happy to have the opportunity to try out a box like this.  Read on to see what I got inside the December box!

Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette: Review & Swatches

When I saw this limited edition eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay Cosmetics in collaboration with Gwen Stefani, there were definitely a few heart-faced emojis happening. I'm definitely a neutrals gal, and have quite a few neutral palettes already, but I was intrigued by this particular release since it also included several bright jewel tones. There has been a lot of talk around this palette, and I have heard both positive and negative comments so I thought I'd share my review and then let you decide for yourselves if this shiny little thing is worth the cash.

2016 Changes: New Posting Schedule + Mailing List

As you may have noticed, I have tried to start of 2016 on my blog with lots of motivation, goals and enthusiasm. As part of my efforts to keep my blog as awesome as possible for you guys with lots of fresh new content and considering your requests, I have created a new blog schedule for you guys!

Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics: Boxing Day Haul

Lush is definitely a cult favourite brand among many and although I have dabbled with products here or there, mainly skincare and makeup items, I hadn't really gotten into their bath bombs or shower gels until the past few months.

It's only now that I can definitely understand how the Lush addiction begins. After buying one or two bath bombs at a time, I feel so sad and empty when I run out! They definitely help to unwind, relax and soothe your skin after a long day and make your bath feel like a special treat. When boxing day sales came around I couldn't resist picking up some of the gift packs available. Unfortunately the Lush site crashed during the sales so most of these ended up being full price items but they are still good value considering each set contains multiple items. I hope you enjoy seeing what I picked up!

My Beauty Resolutions for 2016

With a new year, comes new goals and things that we are setting out to achieve. Last year I created My Beauty Resolutions for 2015 and it was one of my most popular posts, with so many comments from all my lovely readers about how you enjoyed hearing about the things I was working on and what goals I had set out for myself. Overall, I think I have done a pretty good job at working on all of these things, especially rotating my collection and being more creative with my makeup. There are still a few things that I would like to continue to build on this year as well as some new beauty resolutions for the year ahead. Read on to find out what I've committed to working on for 2016!
