BH Cosmetics x Carli Bybel Palette: Review & Swatches

You may have already heard of this relatively new release which is a collaboration between BH Cosmetics and famous Youtuber Carli Bybel. This palette immediately appealed to be since it contains a lot of warm toned neutrals, including some gorgeous shimmers and some very pretty highlight shades for a point of difference. These are the type of shades that I am drawn to straight away and I knew I would get a lot of use out of this palette as long as the eyeshadows were blendable and decent quality. Keep reading on to hear my thoughts on this palette and see some swatches!

BH Cosmetics x Carli Bybel Eyeshadow Palette Review

I'm a big fan of BH Cosmetics and feel that they are grossly underrated and often ignored or passed off as a cheap, bad quality brand, however they have some amazing quality products out there for awesome prices. One of my favourite products from the brand is their 14 Piece Signature Brush Set ($25 USD) which I have been using for over a year now, and their flat top kabuki brush is one of my absolute favourite brushes to apply foundation. So don't judge a brand by it's pricing!!!

BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel 14 Color Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette

The Carli Bybel 14 Color Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette is currently listed on the BH Cosmetics website for just $12.50 USD, and the original price was a mere $20 USD. Either way, it's a very affordable eyeshadow palette. The palette is vegan and cruelty free as well.

The palette includes a mixture of 14 matte and shimmer shadows, which all lean quite warm and vary from beiges, to light and dark browns and burgundy shades. It also includes 4 stunning face highlighters and a bronzing shade. They are soooo pretty, and offer a point of difference from your average neutral palette. The highlighting shades could easily double up as eyeshadows as well.

I found this palette easy to work with, and even when I was just playing around with the shades I felt like it was easy to use and always created really simple but pretty looks. There is quite a bit of fall out since the shades are very buttery and smooth but if you tap off your brush before application I had no issues. The shimmer shades definitely appeared more pigmented than the matte shades which were slightly more chalky, but still easy to use and worked well for me. I love the mixture of a matte beige shade perfect for blending out harsh lines or using as a lid base colour. Then there are lots of light shimmers to use as brow highlights, on the centre of the lid or inner corner.

My favourite shades are the first row, second shade (gorgeous shimmery beige pink)
Second row first shade (shimmery rose gold)
Second row fourth shade (shimmery brown copper)
The second highlighter a golden pink toned shade

This is a look I quickly created when having a bit of a play with the palette, the golden shades look really pretty across the centre of the lid, while the copper and mauve shades make perfect crease colours to add a little warmth and definition. I feel like the palette really suits warm-toned complexions especially.

Overall, I really like this palette and think it's amazing quality for the low price. It would be a great alternative to a naked palette if that is something that might be out of your budget right now. It's easy to create more natural, daytime looks with the lighter shades of this palette but there are darker plum and brown shades to assist with creating a smokey eye if that's what you wanted.

I honestly have used this palette consistently for the past three weeks and it fits in well with my other higher-quality shadows. It has more fall out and might be slightly less pigmented than some other shadows in my collection, but other than that it is a solid palette.

Have you tried this palette? What did you think of it?
