How to Get Healthy Nails: Sally Hansen 7-in-1 Nail Treatment Review

Sally Hansen is one of my favourite brands when it comes to nails and nail care. They have such a great range of formulas including Miracle Gel, Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear, and Complete Salon Manicure, all of which I really love. Recently, I was sent out the new Sally Hansen Complete Care 7-in-1 Nail Treatment* to trial, which claims to help restore dry, brittle nails and make them look healthier, shinier and more moisturised in just 3 days. I suffer from fairly brittle nails myself which I have been trying to work on and find products to give my nails more TLC, so I have put this treatment to the test. Read on to hear my thoughts!

My nails are naturally very brittle and break off easily. About 8 weeks ago I started to use the Swisse Hair Skin Nails Vitamins which have assisted somewhat with improvement, but a nail treatment was definitely something I wanted to try to help keep my nails looking healthy and strong.

The Sally Hansen complete care formula contains avocado oil, sea salt, pomegranate extract and calcium which all work to nourish nails and create a perfect base for your manicure. Probably the best thing with this product, which sets it apart from many other nail treatments is that it can be used as a base coat, and then applied over a nail colour as a top coat as well, which makes it super versatile! I dislike nail treatments that can only be worn alone on bare nails because often I want to paint my nails while still being able to treat them.

When testing out this product on myself, I applied one coat of the treatment as my base coat, two coats of the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Cherry Red, which normally stains my nails and then 1 final coat as the top coat. You can also wear this alone if you want, or use it just as a top coat. I found the formula quite thin and easy to work with and dried really quickly.

I find it hard to say if my nails look noticeably healthier after just the three days, but they certainly feel less brittle and my polish has held up well which is good enough for me to keep using this treatment. When I removed the polish after 3 days, I found that my fingernails were not stained from the red polish, so it worked effectively as a base coat and I had minimal chipping as well thanks to the top coat. The packaging is also super cute, with an ombre pink square bottle and a generous amount of product.

I think this nail treatment is definitely worth picking up, if you're like me and don't like having to have separate bottles for base coat, top coat, and a nail treatment, this one does all of those in one and can be worn alone or on top of the nail polishes you already use.
