March Monthly Favourites: 2016

March 2016 Beauty Favourites

Is it just me or is this entire year just passing us by so quickly!? I can't believe Easter has now come and gone and soon it will be April! Well, for one, I am excited to welcome some cooler weather here in Queensland, as I love fall/winter fashion and in general, I just feel more myself in cooler temperatures. You can take the girl out of Canada ... :) This month has felt like a little bit of a transitional month, coming out of summer, and I seem to have focused more around trying some new skincare products and a few new makeup bits this month. Keep reading to find out what I have been loving! If you haven't already read my February Monthly Favourites Post, you can check it out here.

March Coffee Break: 2016

Another month which has passed us by, which means another life update! Keep on reading to find out what I've been getting up to over the past month beyond just the blog.

My Holy Grails: Products I Have Repurchased

Products that I will repurchase

You may often hear Beauty Bloggers and Youtubers referring to their HG products in their videos or posts. I wondered what this meant for the longest time, it was only after being immersed in the beauty community for a while, that someone explained to me that they were referring to their "holy grail" products. This is a product that works really well for someone, their absolute favourite, preferred product from a certain category that they just can't live without. Today I thought I would take you through my holy grail products, and the products that I most often repurchase without a second thought!

Urban Decay Cosmetics x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette: Review & Swatches

Another day, another blush palette ... but this particular palette is super pretty and limited edition! The words every makeup lover is afraid to hear because they have to ask themselves, "Do I need it?". I've finally had a chance to play around with this palette, and after a few weeks of testing I thought I would give you my full thoughts here on Bows & Pleats so you can decide if you are going to drop $82 AUD on this new and shiny blush palette from Urban Decay, in collaboration with Gwen Stefani. I've already done a full review of the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette here, if you're interested.

5 Face Masks To Deep Clean & Decongest Your Skin

Best Face Masks for Unclogging Pores

Using a good deep-cleansing face mask once or twice a week can really make a difference to your skin's appearance and texture as well as assist in fighting off excess oil that may be causing your breakouts. I find that certain masks really leave your skin feeling smooth, decongested and clean, which are the ones I'm talking you through today. Generally, these contain clay and other antibacterial properties to fight off bacteria that causes breakouts. Some of these face masks are recent discoveries and others are old favourites but they all contain beneficial ingredients to leave your skin feeling its very best.

Makeup Geek: My Eyeshadow Collection & Swatches

Makeup Geek (MUG) has quickly become known as the be all, end all when it comes to amazing eyeshadows. Once people got around to trying Marlena's amazing buttery and pigmented eyeshadow formula, they quickly threw their MAC palettes out the window and jumped straight back on the MUG website to order more shadows. I did a review of my Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Palette back in June 2014 which you can read here. As you can see from this post, at that time I only had a small collection of 9 shadows which fit into a small z palette! I am happy to say that I have just recently made an order to MUG and have completed my 27 pan large Z Palette. Marlena has amazing swatches on the MUG website but I thought I would share my custom palette with you and take you through all the shades I own so you can get some recommendations of shades you might like to try as well!

How-To: Up Your Hair Game in 10 Minutes Or Less

I have never really been someone who has been an expert with hair, just mastering the basic braids, top knots and ponys to get myself through on my own and relying on a salon for all my cuts and colours. I've always had long hair and have never actually tried extensions before. I have fine hair, but so much of it that I never really felt the need to add extensions and I think that I was mostly too scared to try them out for fear that I would screw it up somehow. I was recently given the opportunity to try out Irresistible Me hair extensions and finally agreed to plunge into the dark side and give these a go. Keep reading to find out how it went!
