March Monthly Favourites: 2016

March 2016 Beauty Favourites

Is it just me or is this entire year just passing us by so quickly!? I can't believe Easter has now come and gone and soon it will be April! Well, for one, I am excited to welcome some cooler weather here in Queensland, as I love fall/winter fashion and in general, I just feel more myself in cooler temperatures. You can take the girl out of Canada ... :) This month has felt like a little bit of a transitional month, coming out of summer, and I seem to have focused more around trying some new skincare products and a few new makeup bits this month. Keep reading to find out what I have been loving! If you haven't already read my February Monthly Favourites Post, you can check it out here.

First up, I have totally fallen in love with the Summer Salt Body Watermelon Salt Scrub* which I received at the Malouf Pharmacies Event I attended a few months ago. It smells amazing and is great for exfoliating all over, as well as removing fake tans. These scrubs are very affordable, and are also all natural, consisting only of himalayan salts, celtic sea salts, sugars, and essential oils, nothing else! You can try out a pack of three mini scrubs here, which is a great option if you are finding it hard to choose a particular scent! These are organic, cruelty-free, all natural and hand made in Melbourne, Australia, so what  more can you ask for?

Medik8 White Blanace Click Ultra Brightening Serum

Some random skincare bits I have gladly added into my beauty regime include the Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Lip Conditioner*, which will be released to Priceline and David Jones in the next few weeks. This product makes it easy to hydrate your lips and prep them for lipstick or lip liner application and is super quick and easy to apply from the bullet packaging. It contains kiwi seed oil which is a rich source of vitamins C and E and can dramatically help to maintain moisture in the skin. This is definitely a welcome addition to my morning routine with the slightly cooler weather, causing (unwanted) dry, chapped lips.

I also have been LOVING the Medik8 White Balance Click Ultra Brightening Serum*. I have some major issues with redness, acne scarring and pigmentation and this serum has definitely done a fantastic job at brightening the appearance of my skin and evening out redness and acne spots. It has a pretty amazing packaging system, which includes the main active ingredient, kojic acid in a powder form which is stored in a sealed cap at the top of the bottle, and is released into the rest of the serum when you click down on the lid. You then switch off the lid for a dropper that comes in the box and you've got a powerful anti-pigmentation serum that does exactly what it claims.

MAC Cosmetics Lipstick Swatch Half n Half Amplified

I recently did a Back 2 MAC, and picked up a new MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Half'n'Half which is an amplified formula. This is my favourite type of formula from MAC lipsticks, and when I swatched this in store, I knew I had to own it. I have been obsessed with nudes lately, and this one is just a perfect warm muted brown that looks stunning on the lips.

MAC Lipstick Half n Half

I also trialed some new products from Goodness Natural Beauty Lab, and out of their entire range, these two products impressed me the most and I have been using them daily. The Every Evening Cream* is a very rich, thick and creamy nighttime moisturiser that is great to slap on over the top of a serum, to wake up with gorgeously moisturised and plump skin. As we approach winter, this is going to be a staple in my routine, and although a few times I have thought about reaching for another moisturiser, I just seem to be addicted to this one! The products are all natural, and this cream contains aloe vera leaf extract, chia seed oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, cocoa seed Butter, shea butter and honeysuckle flower extract. That's definitely a very nourishing combo and my skin has been loving it.

Goodness Every Evening Cream

I also have really been enjoying the Every Morning Moisturiser* to wear underneath my makeup. I have combination skin, but I find my makeup always applies better when I wear a little bit of moisturiser on my dryer areas like my cheeks and under my eyes. This is a very thin moisturiser that sinks into the skin right away. It contains similar ingredients to the evening cream but has a much thinner consistency and is easily absorbed, perfect for everyday!

NKD Face Mask

I've already mentioned the NKD Pink Clay Mask* in my post about 5 Face Masks to Deep Clean and Decongest Your Skin. This mask definitely works well to soak up excess oil using kaolin clay as its main ingredient along with papaya fruit extract for healing purposes. Overall, I really have been loving this mask, and how it dries leaving your skin tight but not uncomfortable. My skin feels soft and smooth once the mask is removed and my breakouts seem to be reduced after using it.

Urban Decay Cosmetics Blush Palette

If you haven't already caught my Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette Review, you'd know that I have really been enjoying this palette, especially the shades OC & Hush. It offers a great variety, from pinks, to peaches to rose golds and bronzes, although I do wish there were more matte shades. Check out the post for my full thoughts on this gorgeous palette.

Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick
Rimmel The Only 1 Lipsticks: Cheeky Coral, Call Me Crazy, Pink-A-Punch

Ever since their release in February, I have been obsessed with the Rimmel Only 1 Lipstick Collection*. You can check out my post on the Rimmel Only 1 Lipstick Collection & Swatches, where I try on all the shades which I was sent. Since then, I have also picked up Peachy Beachy, and It's a Keeper after seeing other people's beautiful swatches of those shades. These are extremely creamy and moisturising while still being highly pigmented. I couldn't ask for any more from these amazing drugstore lippies.

March Favoiurites Flatlay

Well, that's it for the March Favourites Roundup!!! As you can see there were lots of pink and pastel pretties, but rest assured the actual products inside are just as good as the stunning packaging they come in and are now Bows & Pleats approved.
