Sephora Australia: Haul + My Experience

So I'm currently in Sydney on a last minute trip for my job and when I realised the hotel they booked me in was only a five minute walk from Sephora, I knew I had to take my *first* trip to Sephora Australia. I've had great experiences with Sephora when I was living in Canada and whenever I've visited the US. I have been disheartened by the fact that they don't accept my Sephora VIB status which I've earned from purchases from the Canada and US Sephora stores. Instead, Sephora AU have started their own loyalty program. I've also heard a lot of negative reviews regarding the disorganisation and chaos of the Sephora AU online store, so I was very eager to visit their physical store in Sydney to decide for myself. Keep reading to hear my thoughts.

So,  I did try to contain myself since there is nothing I am in desperate need for, but since this is my birthday month there was also a certain level of YOLO. From the outside, the Sephora on Pitt Street, Sydney is absolutely stunning! It really took my breath away. I've been to a lot of stores, and this was definitely one of the biggest I've seen, with a unique layout of the store being two levels and the cash registers being on the upper level.

I found the store easy to navigate, and although it was extremely busy as I went during late night shopping, there was still lots and lots of staff members to help you find a certain product or to help get you colour-matched. I actually found that overall, everything I wanted was in stock and nothing was sold out that I could see. Maybe the hype is slowly dying down or they are starting to get better at stocking popular items. Overall, the store was clean, stocked and had beautiful displays and the staff were friendly - I can't really complain! I also loved the edition of the Benefit Brow Bar at the back of the store, and took advantage by getting my brows tinted and waxed and I must say they are definitely looking amazing right now!

The first item I picked up was a complete unplanned purchase but it was love at first sight with the IT Cosmetics CC+ Radiance Ombre Bronzer in Warm Radiance $54 AUD. I swatched this in store and it just came off as the most gorgeous, glowy, natural bronzer and I could see myself getting a lot of use out of it. It's also a huge size and contains 16.17 grams of product. This is supposed to be a waterproof bronzing veil and contains drops of light technology. I can't wait to try this!!!

Next up, I purchased the Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+ Foundation $61 AUD. I already own and love the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation but I have heard some great things about this one and thought it would be a good chance to swatch the different shades and try it out. This is supposed to be a full coverage, yet natural looking matte foundation. I found the shades were quite light and I ended up getting shade #35 - Vanilla (medium skin with yellow/beige undertones) I am hoping that it's not too dark for me. I also tried #20, #25 and #30 but none seemed to match as well for me. Fingers crossed I loved it!!! Always looking for that perfect base.

Speaking of base, I also picked up the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Corrector Concentrate Cream in Light $44 AUD. I know a lot of people rave about the Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer but when I swatched that one in store it seemed so thick and tacky, I didn't like how it felt. This is a peach-based corrector that works to cover up under eye darkness and bags. It felt very creamy and blendable when I tried it on the back of my hand. It contains lots of nourishing ingredients which also tweaked my interest and seems similar to the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector so I'm excited to see how this performs.

Finally. I picked up a Sephora Collection Green Tea Therapy Mask $6 AUD because who doesn't love a good face mask? This one is supposed to be good for calming irritated skin and reducing oil and imperfections. I'm looking forward to trying it!

I also got this free cosmetic bag as a Mother's Day Promotion that they had going when you spend more than $150 AUD. It's not quite my style but I do think it's a really nice quality (almost vinyl) material and a good size.

Overall, I had so much fun visiting Sephora! Those of you who live in Sydney, you're so lucky you can visit it whenever you like, although it must be frustrating it is always so packed in there. I hope you like my choices, and if you have tried any of these products, please let me know your thoughts!

Have you shopped at Sephora AU? What are your thoughts on Sephora?
