Tarte Cosmetics 30% Off Sale: Haul & First Impressions

I have been dying to get my hands on some products from Tarte Cosmetics for a long time now! Unfortunately products from this brand are quite inaccessible here in Australia, and even with their recent availability through Sephora Australia, the prices are substantially more expensive compared to the Tarte US website. Recently, Tarte announced they would be doing a 30% off sale for their entire site. They also recently began offering shipping direct to Australia when you spend over $168 AUD, so I decided to get my wishlist ready and take full advantage of the sale. If you're wondering what I picked up, and would like to hear some full impressions, keep reading! I plan on doing more extensive reviews on many of these products so just let me know what you would like to see!

It was so difficult to decide what to pick up, since the entire Tarte site is filled with amazing packaging and beautiful products, however I narrowed it down to 4 items after doing some online research and watching YouTube videos from beauty gurus who have been using the new collection for a while now.

In my opinion, the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Collection is an absolutely stunning concept, from the name, to the products, to the packaging, they have done an incredible job. As a makeup lover, it made it so hard to decide what to purchase, as each item looked very appealing and unique. The packaging is extremely classy and looks very expensive. I tried to pick items from different categories so I could get a feel for the entire collection. If I was rich, I would seriously have bought it all!!!

The only thing I purchased that wasn't from the Rainforest of the Sea collection was the Tartelette In Bloom Palette, which has been hyped up as a cult favourite among many popular beauty bloggers and YouTubers. After my disappointment with the original Tartelette Palette (all matte, which just didn't work for me), I decided I wanted to try a new palette from Tarte and give them a second chance. It contains a beautiful mixture of both matte and shimmer shades, which was definitely what I missed from the previous palette. This gorgeous product retails for $61 AUD so with 30% off I paid $42.70 AUD.

I have to say I am not disappointed by this palette at all and I have been finding myself using this on a regular basis. I haven't included swatches or in depth photos in this post as I believe it deserves a dedicated review and perhaps a makeup look I have completed using this palette. Please let me know if you'd like to see this!

Next up, I just needed to have the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer Concealer in my life!!! It sounded kike exactly what I wanted - very lightweight, yet blendable and natural looking on the skin. Also, the packaging. The ombre lid literally makes my life and the frosted glass packaging ... It's actually a pretty decent size for a concealer as well, containing 10ml compared to just 6.5ml found in the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer as an example. This concealer has a doe-foot applicator and a very lightweight formula. I have been LOVING this for under eye concealing and brightening as it blends out like a dream. I got the shade light, and there are 6 available shades. This retails for $44.50 AUD on the website which came down to $31.15 AUD.

Next up, I decided I wanted to try the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation, after watching several YouTube videos from Maryam Maquillage, she convinced me I needed to have it since it looked so beautiful on her in her tutorials. This foundation has an interesting "dropper" type packaging so you just drop a few dots directly on your brush or on the back of your hand to apply to the face. It is an extremely lightweight, thin formula that blends out beautifully. I love this when it is first applied but I found that it went extremely oily when I wore it alone, after just 4-5 hours despite using different primers. I have recently been experimenting mixing this with the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation and so far it has been working really well.

Sadly, this has been my biggest disappointment with my Tarte haul since this foundation is priced at $67.50 AUD and I would expect it to have better longevity and not need to mix it with other foundations to make it work. This came in at $47.25 AUD after the discount. If you'd like to see a full review with before/after photos and a progression photo after 5-8 hours, just let me know!

Finally, I picked up the stunning Tarte Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette which is a highlighter palette with three shades. This one was sort of a last minute addition to my cart to reach the amount I needed for free shipping, but it has been amazing to use and I have been pleasantly surprised by how often I reach for this palette. It contains three shades, two shimmer and one matte (middle). The matte shade, filtered light was designed to be used as an under eye setting powder or a matte highlight for a very subtle day look. The left shade, sunlight is a champagne/golden shade, while the right shade moonlight is more cool-toned and has a rosey hue. I love them on their own or mixed. This palette is currently sold out on the Tarte website but retails for $66 AUD, and with the discount I purchased mine for $46.20 AUD.

Well, that's all for my sneak peak inside my recent Tarte Cosmetics haul! I was really happy with the products I picked up. Shipping took longer than expected (about 2 weeks) but I think this was because of the huge amount of orders created during the sale. I saved $71.70 AUD in total and also got free shipping to Australia so I feel like I did make the most of my shopping experience on the Tarte website and would recommend you wait until their next sale if you are looking to pick up some products. If you want them now, atleast take advantage of the free shipping over $174 AUD (as it currently states on their site) if you want to pick up a few items at once or you could split your order with a friend!

Did you pick up anything from the 30% off sale? Have you tried any of these products? Please let me know if there is anything here that you'd like to see a more detailed review on! Thanks for reading! x
