Beauty Bin: May Empties 2016

Hi beauties! I've got another installment of my Beauty Bin Series for you today taking you through all the products I've managed to use up during the month of May. If you'd like to read some of my previous Beauty Bin posts, you can check them out here. Some of you have been asking for a Project Pan Update as well since it has been just over 6 months since I started, so I will try to get that up for you soon. Until then, let's get into some of these empty products!

Goldwell Dualsenses Color Serum Spray - I wrote a post about this product and some of my other favourites from Goldwell which you can read here. This product is basically a heat protectant as well as a way of sealing in your hair colour and preventing it from fading quickly. It is a spray that goes into your hair when it is damp. It makes my hair nice and shiny and smells like pomegranate. It has taken me forever to finish this up as well so it's definitely great value.
Repurchase? I definitely would repurchase this. I swear by Goldwell products for my hair, however I have a few other heat protectants I would like to use up first.

Kit Cosmetics Flawless Sphere - I bought this at Mecca Maxima in hopes that it might be a good dupe for my #1 fave the Beauty Blender, however I absolutely HATED this product. It is extremely hard, and not very porous, so when you pour it under water, it doesn't expand or become soft and is literally so useless. I tried a bunch of different things but nothing worked. Would definitely not recommend. Throwing it out as it does nothing.
Repurchase? Nooo!!! I wouldn't wish this piece of crap sponge on anyone.

Kat Von D Lock it Tattoo Liner in Trooper - This is a mini that came in a Sephora eyeliner gift set. I am obsessed with this eyeliner, and it is definitely my favourite high-end black liquid liner. Perfect blackest black formula, glides on easily and gives such a sharp wing.
Repurchase? I have already repurchased this in the full size.

Ardell Pro Brow Mechanical Brow Pencil in Dark Brown - I picked this up from Priceline thinking it might be a good dupe for the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil which it resembles, and hoping I might find a cheaper alternative. I ended up hating this one. The formula was quite pigmented but not blendable, so even when I brushed out the colour with the spoolie brush at the end, it was still way too heavy. I also found that the pencil itself crumbled after each use.
Repurchase? No way.

Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge - I think I go through one of these each month! They're so good for washing sponges and brushes so I'll continue to use this cleaner. I wish the bottles lasted longer.
Repurchase? I already have!

Skinstitut Glycolic Scrub* - You guys probably already know how much I love Skinstitut skincare, so I won't go into too much detail. If you aren't familiar with the brand, you can read a review of many of their products I have written here. This is a great chemical and manual exfoliant combined. The formula contains some fine particles to rid the face of dead skin cells combined with 14% glycolic acid. Definitely a staple in my collection.
Repurchase? Yes yes yes!

Moo Goo Deodorant Cream* - It's great that this deodorant is formulated without aluminum, parabens or other nasties but it just didn't work for me. I found that it took way too long to dry so after applying it felt quite wet and I didn't feel comfortable. I've managed to use this all up but I definitely prefer deodorant sprays over roll-ons or cream deodorants.
Repurchase? No, sadly this wasn't for me.

Degree Fresh Energy Dry Spray - This deodorant was one I bought when I was in Canada/USA on our honeymoon. It's pretty cool in that it is a spray deodorant that dries instantly so it doesn't feel any uncomfortable wetness on your skin. It sort of just feels like fresh air when you spray it so it freaked me out and made me think the deodorant wasn't actually going on, but it was!
Repurchase? I can't repurchase this since it's not available here, but I think I'd just stick to my normal deodorant sprays from now on.

Rimmel ScandalEyes XX-treme* - This mascara was pretty average, there wasn't anything really special about it that stood out to me. It as a brush with a curved side and a flat side with plastic bristles. Decent length and volume but it was a little smudged on me.
Repurchase? No, I think there are better mascaras out there.

Essence I love Extreme Volume Mascara - This is one of my favourite affordable drugstore mascaras and it works so well for me. I think the general consensus with Essence mascaras is love or hate but I love them. I get such big voluminous lashes with this one.
Repurchase? Yes!

Max Factor Masterpiece Transform High Impact Volumising Mascara - This is an awesome mascara that I have repurchased a bunch of times. It has a very skinny, plastic-bristled brush that tapers out at the end. It works really well for inner corner and bottom lashes, as well as creating great volume in general and the formula is super dark and black.
Repurchase? Yes! Once I get through some others, I would buy this again.

Rimmel Idol Eyes Mascara by Kate Moss* - Again, another average mascara that I was happy to use up but I didn't feel like anything really stood out that would make me want to buy this again. The packaging was rather thick and bulky which I also didn't enjoy. The brush was a broken heart shape which I found more annoying than effective for catching a hold of my lashes.
Repurchase? No, definitely would pass on this one.

L'Oreal Paris False Lash Butterfly Wings Mascara - I liked how this mascara definitely does give a strong fanned out effect that resembles a butterfly, but it doesn't give me enough volume. The brush is plastic and works well to grab onto the inner corner and hard to reach lashes. I was on the fence about this one but I think there are probably better ones out there.
Repurchase? I probably would try some others first.

L'Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream - I bought this thinking it would be a lovely, creamy CC cream that could help counteract my redness since it states that it comes out green and then adjusts to your natural skin tone. I found that this went completely orange on me whenever I wore it and did not look natural whatsoever. The formula is also quite runny and not creamy at all. I strongly disliked this product and struggled to get through it. I am throwing out what is left of this.
Repurchase? No.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - I have had this for so long the label has almost completely worn off. I remember buying this when Zoella and Marlena were raving about it on YouTube as a great affordable drugstore concealer. The brand is from the UK so I think I may have sourced this somewhere online. It was a great concealer and I enjoyed using it. Since then I have found other favourites I like just as much that are more readily accessible like the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous and the Maybelline Fit Me concealers.
Repurchase? No, it's a little difficult to buy here.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation - I actually ran out of this in last month's empties post here, but this is in the darker shade that I used when I am fake tanned (4.5) and I'm so sad it's gone. I just repurchased this in my regular shade (3.0) but I guess I will have to get a darker one for when I am more tanned as well. This is one of my holy grail foundations that I swear by and I have a full review on it that you can read here.
Repurchase? Yes, although it hurts my wallet!!!

Overall, I was pleased with how much I got through this month and a little mascara clean out definitely helped me to add a few more products to the trash bin. I am definitely enjoying doing my empties as a monthly series, instead of a whenever-i-remember series which used to build up for ages and result in super long posts throughout last year. I hope you're enjoying this series as well and please feel free to leave me any suggestions for future posts!

What is something that you have finished up recently? Are you using something up that you really don't like? That's always the hardest!
