May Coffee Break: 2016

Hey babes! I'm back to you with another post from my Coffee Break Series where we catch up and I tell you a little more about what has been happening in my life! If you'd like to read my previous posts from the series, click here. So if you're keen to have a little chit chat and hear what I've been up to, keep reading!

I thought I'd start off by letting you know that I'm really enjoying my makeup course that I've been doing every Saturday with the Australian Institute of Creative Design. I can't believe we are already into week 6 and we are starting to do looks which we will put into our makeup portfolios, as well as assessments where we have to bring in models to complete a specific makeup brief. It's been so much fun and despite what I was told by many others about the course being "basic" and telling me I wouldn't learn anything, I have learned so much, both from the course and from the girls in my class and I actually feel it is pretty in depth! I have no regrets at all about doing this course but it is hard only have one proper day off a week that I leave to do absolutely everything!

Here is a recent glam look that I completed a few weeks ago that I was really happy with!

This month was also an exciting month because it was my birthday on the 21st and I have turned 27! I had a pretty chill and quiet birthday this year spent with my husband and his family who I'm quite close with. It was definitely fun though and we did end up going out for some dinner and drinks which I really enjoyed. My favourite gifts included a new luggage set, some gift cards from Mecca, a gift card from Sigma and some Lush goodies. My friends/family definitely know how to spoil me! I also was able to write my citizenship test and have been approved for Australian Citizenship!!! Yay, I just have to wait for my official ceremony. I'm so excited!

On Sunday, I was lucky enough to attend the Bloggers United AU event in Brisbane with some of the best beauty bloggers and vloggers around! It was such an amazing event and a huge thank you goes to the organisers of the event Zebby, Tahana, Nikita and Jasmine. I plan on doing a full post about the event so I won't say too much but I thought it was worth mentioning it was an amazing day to meet new bloggers/vloggers and network with new brands and was super well organised. Loved it!

Unfortunately this last week has definitely kicked me down a little in terms of my blog and my social media channels, since I have had a really bad flu and have had to take several days away from work and have basically just slept and cancelled all my commitments. I haven't been able to go to the gym or do much at all which always makes me feel guilty. I'm finally starting to feel better so bare with me as I try to catch up with my blog and other social media content!

Hopefully June will be kind to me and I'm sure it will be an amazing month! I'm feeling positive and I have a lot of ideas for the blog so stay tuned for lots of exciting content coming to you soon. Hope you are all doing well! Please let me know what you've been up to in the comments below!
