BUA x Lush Cosmetics: 1st Birthday Event + Haul

I was recently invited to celebrate Bloggers United AU 1st Birthday Party with Lush Cosmetics in Brisbane. How exciting! If you don't know about Bloggers United AU, I explained what they are all about in my post from their last Brisbane event here. Basically, they work to bring bloggers/vloggers and influencers together to create a supportive and exciting community. They often organise events with brands to assist bloggers/influencers to increase their exposure, while the brands also benefit by getting promoted and offered reviews. It's a super exciting and successful movement that I am happy to be a part of! Keep reading to find out more about their 1st Birthday Party with Lush Cosmetics!

So many soaps to choose from!!!

Beautiful fragrance display

Bloggers United AU were kind enough to get an intimate group of bloggers/vloggers and YouTubers together to celebrate their 1st Birthday Party. What could be a better way to celebrate than to have a Lush party?! We were lucky enough to attend Lush Cosmetics at Queen Street in Brisbane after hours so we could have the store to ourselves! How special.

Tahana Lee welcoming everyone to the event

We were welcomed by the beautiful Tahana Lee, who talked about celebrating Bloggers United AU's 1st Birthday Party and thanking everyone for coming along tonight. She reminded us to of course take lots of pictures and hashtag #bloggersunitedau, which wasn't a problem for a bunch of influencers that are generally glued to their phones and cameras anyway!

Lush Cosmetics Fresh Handmade Ingredients: Banana, Avocado, Honey, Eggs, Oats, Almonds and Rose Petals

We were given some information about the mission statement and ethics behind Lush Products as well as a breakdown of some of the fresh handmade ingredients that go into each and every one of their products. Many of their products contain fresh banana, avocado, almonds, and honey! It was amazing to hear about all the time and effort that is put into the creation of each product, and that many of their products are also vegan, and all of them are cruelty-free.

We completed a little scavenger hunt in pairs to find products that contained certain ingredients with the winning team winning a prize pack (sadly, it wasn't me). We then got some time to look around at the different products, network, enjoy some nibbles and ask any questions about the products with the staff who were there on the night. It was a really nice evening and my only complaint would be that we were in a small, locked store with a high level of fragrance and there was no air-conditioning so by the end of the night I was sweating, and had a headache from the lack of airflow. BUT that's okay!!! I survived with goodies in tow!

I was so grateful to be invited along to this event and to get to spend some time with Lush staff one-on-one. Each attendee was gifted with one item of their choice. I decided to pick up the Dirty Springwash Shower Gel* after a recommendation from the lovely Celia Spain. We were also gifted with little goodie bags at the end of the event which contained Kerbside Violet Solid Perfume* and The Great Barrier Solid Hydrating Wash*

I also did some major Lush damage of my own accord and ending up purchasing the Cosmic Gift Set (contains Twilight Bath Bomb and Intergalactic Bath Bomb), Cup o' Coffee Exfoliating Mask, Roots Hair Treatment, Yuzu and Cocoa Bubbleroon, and 3 bath bombs (Butterball, Frozen and Tisty Tosty). Safe to say I am stocked up on bath bombs for a while now!!!

This event was a great experience and I mainly just had so much fun catching up with bloggers I hadn't met before in person, as well as my trusty blogging crew of lovely girls I have come to know over the past two years. We are very lucky and grateful  to get invited along to these sorts of events and it is great to really get to develop relationships with brands and other influencers for future collaborations.
