Beauty Bin: July Empties 2016

Another month, another chance to go through my garbage and see what products I have managed to finish up over the past few weeks! I kept seeing my beauty bin get more and more full and I couldn't believe it when I went to write this post how many products I actually managed to use up! I am definitely proud of my efforts this month, I have even managed to finish off several makeup items which is hard to do as you gals know! If you didn't catch my other Beauty Bin Posts, you can read them here.

First up, we have the infamous Daiso Puff and Sponge Cleaner which is a well known cult-favourite for deep cleaning makeup brushes. For $2.80, you can't go wrong and I generally buy these about 10 at a time as the bottles are quite small. I spent a lot of time washing my brushes over the past month since I had a lot of makeup practical assessments with my course so I wasn't surprised to finish these off so quickly.
Repurchase? Yes, I will definitely buy more of this product. It works really well on all of my brushes, even those that are very stained.

Also from Daiso Japan, which I mentioned in my June Beauty Bin Post, are these square cotton puffs that I use to remove my makeup, apply micellar water, toner, etc. They come in a pack of 90 which is amazing if you go through a lot of these like me! Looks like another trip to Daiso is in my near future!
Repurchase? Yes, I will definitely repurchase these! They are so affordable for a large box.

I have recently finished up the Pureal Pure Botanical Cleansing Oil*, which was a firm favourite of mine over the past 6 months. I mentioned this one in My 2015 Skincare Favourites Post  It works so well to remove makeup, especially eyeliner, mascara and other heavy makeup that can be hard to remove with a regular cleanser. I have really been enjoying oil cleansers lately so I am keen to try some others as well to compare with this one.
Repurchase? I'd like to try out some other oil cleansers to see how they compare with this one. I definitely would repurchase once I have used up some others in my stockpile.

My absolute favourite foundation base for full coverage and flawless skin for special occasions is the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation (full review here), I feel like all I do is rave about this foundation so I'll just leave it there, but I'd highly recommend it!
Repurchase? I have already repurchased a new one, and I will continue to buy this foundation as it's my favourite!

I've also managed to finish up two powders from my collection. The Milani Multitasker Face Powder was a random purchase for me that went unused for many months as I found the light-medium shade was too light to use to set my foundation. When I finally decided to use this powder to bake underneath my eyes and go over the highlighted areas of my face, I loved it!
Repurchase? I would definitely repurchase this to use to bake under my eyes since I really liked the result and it didn't look cakey at all. It's very affordable at $13.95 AUD

The other powder I finished, is the Youngblood Mineral Rice Setting Powder in medium, you can read an older blog post here from when I first purchased this nearly two years ago so it has lasted me forever! This is a really nice natural powder that I like to use when my skin doesn't need as much coverage to set my foundation. It is also made from non-irritating ingredients so if I'm going through a bad breakout, I will often use this to prevent my skin from further irritation.
Repurchase? Yes, I would repurchase this once I get through a few more powders.

Finally, the classic Urban Decay Primer Potion, this is a super old bottle in the old packaging. This one is also in the shade sin which is a champagne shimmery shade that works well with most eyeshadow colours.
Repurchase? No. I love my Mac Cosmetics Paint Pots in Soft Ochre and Painterly which have replaced this product.

Next up for more bath/body products, I've recently finished up the Dove Go Fresh Restore Body Wash in Fig and Orange Blossom. This shower gel is blue in colour and has a very citrusy, fresh scent that I really liked using.
Repurchase? Dove do some of my favourite affordable body washes so I would definitely repurchase!

In terms of haircare, I have made my way through the Goldwell Dualsenses Color Fade Stop Shampoo which smells amazing and works so well at keeping hair looking like it's been freshly coloured. Goldwell is one of my favourite haircare brands and I love all the products from the Dualsenses line.
Repurchase? I would definitely repurchase more shampoos from the dualsenses line!

Another shower gel that I have really enjoyed using is the Lush Cosmetics Dirty Springwash Shower Gel* which is so fresh and zingy! It has a mint scent to it so it's very invigorating to use in the morning to wake yourself up!
Repurchase? No. This wasn't my absolute favourite scent, although I did enjoy using it so I would try something different next time.

Finally, the Schick Intuition Pure Nourishment Blades, I just thought I'd mention these because I really like these razors and they always leave my skin feeling smooth and soft and they are very hydrating for the skin.
Repurchase? Yes.

One product that I have really been loving is the Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face sunscreen which I used throughout my entire honeymoon at the end of last year and which doubles really well as a moisturiser, primer and sunscreen all in one! This sits so well under makeup and is an amazing product.
Repurchase? Yes but not yet. I have recently received the Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face Sunscreen which is 50+ as my birthday gift from Mecca which is a full size, so I will try that out first!

One of my absolute favourite perfumes is the Vera Wang Lovestruck Fragrance, which I picked up after really enjoying the original Princess perfume from Vera Wang and I think I like Lovestruck even more! This scent contains pink guava, lotus flower, with woody notes and sheer musk as the base. This is a gorgeous fragrance and was easy to finish!
Repurchase? Yes. I recently picked up the 100ml size as it was on sale!

This Benefit Roller Lash Mini Mascara can do no wrong! I have and love the full size, and I usually take this one with me for travelling or weekends away when I'm trying to save space. This would be great to purchase if you didn't want to commit to the hefty price tag of the full sized product.
Repurchase? I already have the full size so no need to buy again, but it's a favourite and I would repurchase the full size product again.

This Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Ballet Twist was a favourite of mine since it's so easy to apply and adds some hydration, shine and a sheer addition of colour which is great for minimal makeup days. The top of the balm actually broke off and fell out so that is why this one found it's way to my empties.
Repurchase? No. I like this product but I have so many similar products I couldn't justify purchasing more.

The L'Oreal Base Magique Transforming Smoothing Primer was sadly a disappointment for me. I bought this off some recommendations I had received from other bloggers but I personally found it very difficult to work with. It is a thick cream texture so you only need a small amount but I found it difficult to blend and just felt too thick for me.
Repurchase? No.

Well that is it for that epic monthly empties post!!! I hope you enjoyed reading about the products I have finished up or had to throw out. I can't believe I've finished up 100 products already!!! Yay! What should my goal be for the end of the year?
