Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipsticks: Review + Swatches

With the matte lip trend being more popular than ever with King Kylie and Jeffree Star ruling the liquid lipstick world, some may turn up their nose at this new lipstick collection from Rimmel with the words "sheer" and "shine". Personally, I thought it was a breath of fresh air and I think a more natural, hydrating lipstick always has a place in my heart and in my beauty collection. Keep reading to find out what I think of the new Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipstick Range from Rimmel!

With six available shades, the Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipstick Range* is perfect for the natural beauty lover or someone who may suffer from more dry and dehydrated lips and want something more nourishing for their everyday lipstick. These lipsticks contain a vitamin A,C, and E enriched formula that gives lips an energy shot of moisture, fresh juicy colour and radiant shine!

I love the translucent pink packaging of these lipsticks with silver accents. It is very classic, simple and just works for me. The colours are clearly labeled with both numbers and names for easy identification at the end of each lipstick bullet.

The texture of these lipsticks is super lightweight and feels really comfortable once applied. These are not sticky whatsoever, and feel silky on the lips. They also contain SPF 20 UV protection, again highlighted the fact that these are great to wear during the day. The major downside to these lipsticks is that their lasting power is very minimal, however I don't really see this as an issue for me. I don't mind reapplying these lipsticks because they layer very well, and don't get patchy or ball up. As you can see from the swatches on my arm, these are very shining and you can see how hydrating and juicy they are!

These lipsticks provide a boost of hydration, and they also smell so nice. A sweet fragrance, similar to candy or "lollies". I can get 1-2 hours of wear before I can see the colour fading noticeably. The darker shades also leave more of a stain behind on the lips.

In terms of colour choices, I think they have done extremely well to provide a good variety of shades with their six colour choices. There are two nude shades, one more suitable for fairer skin tones in 100 - woke up like this and then another nude shade that would probably be more universally flattering in 700 - better & brighter. There is also a light pink shade 200 - glow-rious pink and a more fuschia pink in 300 - pink rules. Finally, there is a more coral shade in 600 - spin all spring and a red shade in 500 - red-y, set, go! There aren't any shades I really feel are missing from the collection, so there should be one to suit most people!

I personally found the only shade that didn't work for me was 100 - woke up like this as it was way too light for me.

Overall, I have really been loving these lipsticks despite my initial concerns that they wouldn't be pigmented enough for me! They are awesome and incredibly convenient to pop on for a casual day out, running errands or just for a day at the office. I love that these don't require any precision whatsoever and are easy to reapply throughout the day. My favourite shades are glow-rious pink, better & brighter and spin all spring.

What do you think of a more sheer lipstick?
