New In: What's Landed on My Desk + First Impressions

Hi lovelies! It's been a busy past few weeks for me as you would have noticed from a lack of posts here on B&P! Hopefully you don't mind too much, as I am trying to find my balance with full-time work, full-time postgraduate studies as well as some personal issues that have been happening recently. However, I have some amazing new content planned for you all and I will be slowly but surely publishing new posts for you all so be sure to check back here soon!

Today I thought I would do a collective post with some of the PR products that have landed across my desk over the past few weeks as well as my first impressions since I have had a chance to try them all out a few times. I love seeing what people's thoughts are on new PR products so I thought you might also be interested to have a peak with me. If you're keen to see what products I've been trying out over the past little while, keep reading!

Just before I headed off to Europe, I received a gorgeous package from the UK beauty brand,  Technic Cosmetics. Technic specialise in cruelty-free products and boast a wide array of cosmetics products and accessories including nail polishes, lipsticks, lip glosses, highlighters and blushes. I was kindly gifted two eye shadow palettes to try out as well as three highlighters across the Technic range.

The Technic Colour Max Baked Eyeshadow Palette in Silverado* is a cool-toned, smokey and sultry addition to their collections. This particular colour palette is really not my cup of tea. As you can see from the swatches above, the darker shades perform a lot better than the lighter silver shades. These swatches are after 3-4 swipes with my finger so the pigmentation is certainly not at the same standard as other comparable brands such as Makeup Geek, ColourPop or Chi Chi Cosmetics. I like the packaging of the palette, it would be convenient for travel and I like the large size of the eyeshadows but overall it wasn't something I could see adding to my existing makeup collection. This palette retails for £3.33 (Approx 5.46 AUD).

The Technic Colour Max Baked Eyeshadow Palette in Cappuccino* is a gorgeous, warm-toned palette that contains six baked eyeshadow shades with rose gold and neutral hues. This was certainly my favourite palette out of the two, although it is disappointing that the pigmentation is not consistent with each shade. I love the duo-chrome shade (4th from top), it reminds me a lot of MAC's Blue Brown pigment and has similar color shift properties. The lighter shades performed poorly including the champagne shade (1st from top) and the light pink shade (2nd from bottom). Overall I though this was a decent palette for the low price point of RRP £3.33 (Approx 5.46 AUD), I didn't love the baked formula and feel like it could have been a lot more buttery and pigmented. I would like to try the other eyeshadow palettes that Technic offer before making my full opinion.

Finally, I received three Technic Highlighters from their range. The Technic Get Gorgeous Highlighter in Pink Sparkle* (top) is a pink-based highlighter and would look nice as a blush 'topper' rather than simply as a highlighter in my opinion. The Technic Get Gorgeous Highlighter* (middle) is their original shade and the truest highlight shade. It is a cool, champagne highlighter and my favourite out of the three. This does have a lot of shimmer so it does create a little texture on the face but overall I enjoy it. Finally, the Technic Get Gorgeous Highlighter in Peach Candy* (bottom) is a highly pigmented peachy, shimmery shade. Again, I would use this as a blush topper instead of a highlighter and it also makes a gorgeous eyeshadow shade. It would suit a much darker skin tone as a highlighter shade. These highlighters retail for £2.91 (Approx 4.78 AUD), so they are certainly excellent value for money and worth checking out!

I also received a mixture of goodies to try from AMR Hair and Beauty which is an online store that carries brands such as Palladio, LA Splash, Bondi Sands, Model Rock and many others. I received the 18 in 1 Argan Oil, Keratin, Panthenol & Vitamin E Smoothing Cream* (200ml, $17.95 AUD) and it is a product I have been loving. I put some through my mid lengths and ends on freshly washed hair and it really reduces my frizz, and makes my hair look smooth and shiny without weighing it down.

I also received the Palladio Matte Bronzer in Nude Beach* ($22.33 AUD). I have heard great things about this brand so I was excited to try a few products from their cosmetic range. This is a smooth and buttery bronzer and I find that a small amount goes a long way. It is a little on the red side for me, however, when used with a light hand this is a gorgeous contour shade. There are also other shades available from this range that are matte bronzers that you could also try depending on your skin tone. Also from Palladio, I recieved the Herbal Glam Intense Gel Liner in Deep Black* ($18.13 AUD) and an accompanying Angled Liner Brush* (12.53 AUD). These work together as a great combination for a gorgeous winged liner. I tend to prefer eyeliner pens over gel liner, but this is great for special occasions since it does not budge. The formula is creamy and a true jet black.

Finally, the LA Splash Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Tiramisu* ($3.99 AUD) was one of my favourite products from this haul. It is a stunning, deep terracotta nude and one of the few liquid lipstick formulas that I find comfortable as well as long-lasting. This shade goes with everything which is why it has become such a favourite for days at the office or nights out. They also have many other shades available from this range.

AMR is an Australian retailer and offer Next Day Dispatch for orders made before 4pm. They have heaps of awesome hair and makeup brands so they are worth checking out further. AMR Website: https://amr.com.au/

Finally, I received some new hair goodies to try from Klorane. This is a brand that I had heard of and seen in store, but had never actually tried before myself and I am thoroughly impressed so far. I am currently using both the shampoo and conditioner from the pomegranate range which is designed for damaged, coloured hair seeking colour maintenance. The formula of the shampoo and conditioner is a very rich, thick formula but does not leave my hair feeling heavy at all. I really have been loving both of these products, and having my hair recently died darker, I feel it is looking super fresh. The smell of the pomegranate is also amazing and leaves your hair smelling fruity and clean. You can purchase the Klorane Colour Enhancing Anti-Fade Shampoo with Pomegranate* (17.99 AUD) and Klorane Colour Enhancing Conditioner with Pomegranate* ($13.99) from Priceline.

I have also been using and absolutely LOVING the Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk* (14.99 AUD). Apparently this is a cult favourite within the beauty community and I can see why. It applies very lightly into the hair so you don't get as much of a product build-up as other dry shampoos and it actually leaves your hair feeling so clean and soft. It takes less effort to tossle the product throughout your hair with this dry shampoo so it is virtually effortless. This is also available at Priceline. I feel like this product may be a new contender with my favourite Batiste Dry Shampoo!!! Big words, I know.
