Everyday Makeup Look: Office Friendly (Cruelty-Free)

Today's post is something a little different for you all. I decided I wanted to create a little tutorial for a simple everyday look that is office friendly. If any of you are like me and work in an office, it's hard to know how to look glam without feeling like you are overdoing it, and also wanting to wear some makeup so you aren't bare-faced. I think I have found a happy medium so I thought I would share some of my everyday essentials over the past month or so. I hope you enjoy this post! It has been a while since I've done a tutorial but you can find some more here.

This look is super easy, and takes me about 15-20 minutes in the morning which is super achievable when you are on a busy schedule! I like to prime my skin with an illuminating primer like the Mecca Maxima Lit From Within Primer to give my skin some extra hydration and glow. I have also been loving the Lycogel Breathable Foundation* which is a super natural looking foundation that is able to achieve full coverage without looking cakey at all. This has been a favourite for me for the office because I only have to use a little concealer under my eyes and then my base is pretty much done. For everyday use, I have been trying out the Mecca Max Life Proof Concealer, in a lighter shade than my skin tone and just dab a few circles under my eyes and blend in with a beauty blender.

To set my under eye, I have been swearing by the Australis Banana Powder pressed on with a dry sponge! It is really good for baking with and leaves my undereye area looking flawless. I then set the rest of my face with the It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination and the result is a super flawless base.

Moving on to brows, the best cruelty-free alternative to the Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil has definitely been the Eye of Horus Brow Define Pencil in Dynasty* which is a medium brown shade. This is very very similar to the Benefit brow pencil and I think I actually have grown to like it better which is awesome. I have already used up an entire pencil and have been using this every day without fail. It is very precise and allows you to achieve exactly the shape you want and add in tiny hair strokes near the front of the brow. The only negative about this product is that there are only 3 shades available, however they are quite universal so they are worth checking out. I have then been finishing off my brows with the Essence Make Me Brow Gel and this has certainly been a winning combination for me.

Now, just keeping it real, if you are ever short on time or find yourself running late in the morning, I would personally follow all these steps and then just skip eyeshadow and move on to the other products since you can still achieve a perfectly put together makeup look for the office with no eyeshadow. Just a small amount of highlighter in the inner corner of the eye is enough.

However, if you do have the time, a simple eye look is what I usually go for each morning. For this look, I popped the lightest shade from the Eye of Horus Shadow Palette*, Enigma Mist which is a soft pink metallic satin shade and I apply this all over my lid with a flat shader brush. Then, to define the crease a little bit I have taken a light brown shade from the BH Cosmetics Marble Collection Warm Stone Eyeshadow Palette from the first row, second from the left in the palette and placed this in my crease to create some definition. I also swipe some of this same shade to my lower lash line. Another product that also makes a huge difference is the Eye of Horus Goddess Pencil* which I place in my tight line for an easy eyeliner look that takes no skill or precision! This pencil doesn't transfer to my lower lashes and stays on all day. This really helps you to look more awake. Finally, I finish off with the Eye of Horus Bio Lash Lift Mascara* which has a super black formula and curls my lashes beautifully.

To further define the face, I have been loving the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Surreal Light Palette which is an absolute powerhouse multi-tasking palette that makes your face look so airbrushed and glowing while still being very natural. I really love the bronzer in this palette, Surreal Bronze Light, it's just so natural and easy to blend out. I usually pair this with the Surreal Glow blush shade and Surreal Strobe Light as the highlighter. This highlighter is super natural so if you want your highlight to 'pop' you would need to use something else, but for me it is really perfect for an everyday makeup look.

Finally, for lips, some days I will throw on a simple gloss but for something a little more long-wearing, I highly recommend the Jouer Long-Wear Lip Crème in the shade Dulche De Leche which is a matte cool nude and so perfect to accompany any look in an effortless way.

And that's it! Then you are done and ready to get on your way!
